PPSC SYLLABUS FOR WRITTEN EXAM

Syllabus for any exam has foremost importance so is the case for ppsc . It even gets more prominence because it’s a competitive exam where the aspirants are in a cut throat  competition. PPSC with every advertisement publishes the syllabus for the post. Its normal paper pattern is objective type mcqs. These are English comprehension, Islamiyat , general science , general ability and computer. The exam is usually 90 minutes and has a negative marking of 0.25 for every wrong answer. For example if there are 4 wrong answers marked by the candidate then there is the deduction of 5 marks.

General exam break down

The general exam where people belonging to different sets of qualification can apply is said to be a general exam in ppsc. For example ASI , SI in Punjab police department. The syllabus is somehow the same for all the posts of general exams.

Current affairs

This portion of the examiner tends to test the general awareness of the candidates about the current national and international situation. Therefore the candidate should be very much vigilant about current development. He should read the newspaper regularly to get awareness.

Pakistan affairs 

This part includes the history related to pre and post partition . It gains very much prominence when there is a question related to history. So candidates must have the knowledge of major historical happenings.

Urdu 

This portion includes the basic urdu grammar , proverbs, sentence correction and name of the major books of urdu literature. This majorly includes some questions that everyone has studied in matric or inter classes.

General science and ability 

This is the portion related to science and general mathematics. This portion major related to the questions of basic biology , Physics  and mathematics. The math portion is from middle classes . Ratio, proportions and sequence.

Computer 

This part includes the questions related to computer hardware and software. Major deals with shortcuts of Microsoft Office Word, Excel and Powerpoint . The candidate must be well aware about these softwares.

Specialized exam

There are some specialized jobs like in the law department and higher education department so in that case the major portion 80 % is related to the field and 20% relates with General knowledge which includes all the above mentioned subjects.
